Kirbi Kidd, Psy.D. is a Postdoctoral Resident specializing in Sport and Performance Psychology.  Kirbi employs a collaborative approach with her clients, helping them identify and develop the specific skills required to feel and perform at their best.

Kirbi’s services combine her passion for sport with her compassion for people.  A former collegiate basketball player, she graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a major in Psychology and a self-designed minor in Sport Studies.  She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Athletic Counseling and her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Springfield College.  As a graduate student, she worked with athletic teams at the high school and collegiate levels on mental performance skills, and gained clinical experiences serving individuals and families ranging from pre-K to college-aged adults and professionals.  She later served alongside the Counseling and Sport Psychology department at Mississippi State as an APA Psychological Intern, assisting teams and individual athletes with workshops and individual counseling sessions.  As a practitioner, Kirbi emphasizes rapport building to build trust and an understanding of her clients’ unique needs.  She fosters an inclusive environment in her sessions, and believes that feelings of comfort and safety are essential to holistic mental healthcare.

Kirbi is a lifelong learner who enjoys reading, museums, and exploring new cultures.  She is an avid Marvel fan who loves superheroes and a good origin story.  She is certified in three different Les Mills group fitness programs, and aspires to build inroads between the mental health and fitness industries.
