Savanna Townsend is a project specialist, leadership consultant, and human resources manager at Premier Sport Psychology. Her work includes managing the day-to-day operations of Premier’s “Leadership U” program at the University of Minnesota and facilitating the onboarding and assimilation of all Premier employees.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and International Business from Iowa State University, where she was a two-year captain of the Women’s Swimming and Diving Team, Savanna began her career in marketing, first as an intern for SportsEngine, and then as an Event Planner and Promotions Director for Destination Sturgeon Bay, where she coordinated city-wide special events, created digital marketing material, managed project and production teams, and served in a client-facing role as a customer-support lead. She subsequently returned to her roots in athletics and obtained an internship with Leadership U, assisting in student-athlete development at the University of Minnesota. She transitioned to Premier Sport Psychology full time in 2020, continuing her work in student-athlete advocacy by supporting projects directly related to the personal and professional growth of student-athlete populations. Since beginning her employment with Premier, Savanna has completed her master’s degree in Human Resource Development and an Adult Education Graduate certificate at the University of Minnesota.
A devoted swimmer from age five, Savanna was a multi-event individual state champion in high school, and was the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee while participating in numerous record-breaking relays at Iowa State. Since retiring from swimming, she enjoys running, fishing, tennis, and beach volleyball.
