Background

Alexandra (Alex) Wulbecker-Smith is a licensed mental health provider who specializes in sport and health psychology. With a deep passion for helping athletes grow in all aspects of life, Alex strives to create a space where individuals can explore who they are in and out of sport to help them achieve their personal, academic, and athletic goals.  Her specializations include balancing student-athlete life, mental recovery from injury, leadership, performance anxiety, and retirement from sport.

A native of the Chicago metro, Alex graduated from Northern Illinois University, earning a degree in Physical Therapy with a minor in Psychology. Outside the classroom, Alex patrolled the infield for the division one Huskie softball program. Following graduation, Alex obtained her Master’s in Sport and Exercise Psychology and a certificate in Sports Management from Northern Illinois, and her Master’s in Counseling with an emphasis in Sport and Health from Adler University in Chicago.

Alex has seen sport from all different angles. Following her playing career she spent four years coaching high school volleyball, basketball, and softball in Illinois. Alex also worked for five years as a travel softball coach and another eight as a private hitting and fielding instructor.

A diehard Chicago Cubs fan, Alex spends her free time trying new coffee shops and exploring all the incredible amenities that the Twin Cities have to offer. She is happily married to her husband Ryan and the two live with their son Bode and their beagle Penny.
