Founder & CEO | Senior Principal Sport Psychologist
As Founder and CEO of Premier Sport Psychology and Premier Performance Advising, Dr. Anderson leads a multidisciplinary performance psychology and consulting organization serving professional, Olympic, collegiate, and business environments. His confidential work has supported Hall of Famers, All-Pros, All-Stars, world and national champions, head coaches, front-office leaders, athletic directors, executives, and organizations across the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, NWSL, PWHL, and Olympic sport.
A former collegiate quarterback, Dr. Anderson brings an uncommon combination of psychological training, applied performance experience, and organizational leadership to his work. His approach draws from performance psychology, neuroscience, counseling psychology, and organizational psychology; and from thousands of hours spent inside the environments where attention, judgment, leadership, relationships, and execution are tested in real time.
Dr. Anderson primarily works with individuals and organizations for whom performance carries meaningful consequences and sustained excellence requires more than talent alone.
His work commonly includes:
The work extends beyond isolated mental skills or short-term motivation. Dr. Anderson seeks to understand the performer within the larger system, identifying the psychological, interpersonal, and environmental factors affecting performance and translating that understanding into practical strategies for sustained development.
A central focus of Dr. Anderson’s work is understanding why highly capable people sometimes struggle to access their capabilities when demands increase. He studies how attention, threat, emotion, confidence, and decision-making interact under pressure, helping performers identify what disrupts execution and train more effective responses to the conditions they are likely to face.
Elite performance is not a single moment but an evolving developmental process. Dr. Anderson works with athletes across the demands of a competitive career, addressing performance consistency, confidence, identity, motivation, injury and transition, leadership, communication, and the psychological demands of sustaining excellence over time.
Individual talent is only part of what determines whether teams perform effectively. Dr. Anderson advises coaches and organizations on the human systems surrounding performance, including leadership behavior, communication, trust, role clarity, team identity, accountability, psychological safety, and cultural alignment.
Dr. Anderson also applies principles refined in elite sport to business and organizational leadership. His work with executives and leadership teams focuses on decision-making, leadership effectiveness, communication, team dynamics, and organizational alignment—particularly when leaders are navigating uncertainty, change, competing demands, and consequential decisions.

Dr. Anderson is the author of Intentional Attention: The Science and Practice of Focus Under Pressure, which examines one of the central questions of his career: Why do capable, well-prepared people sometimes struggle to access what they are capable of when pressure rises—and what can be trained to change that?
Drawing from neuroscience, psychology, and decades of applied work, Dr. Anderson introduces a framework for training attention as a foundational performance skill. Rather than offering a single technique or mental shortcut, Intentional Attention explores how personal attributes, attentional patterns, pressure, fatigue, and environmental demands shape where attention goes, and how performers can develop greater awareness and intentionality around what happens next.
Through stories from professional sport, leadership, and everyday performance, the book provides practical systems for awareness, intention, execution, reflection, and renewal, helping readers build an approach to attention that can withstand the complexity of real performance environments.
Published by Wiley with a foreword by NFL head coach Jonathan Gannon, Intentional Attention includes endorsements from professional athletes, coaches, executives, and organizational leaders across elite sport.
