Her approach integrates clinical experience and performance psychology to help athletes and coaches at all levels. For elite athletes and high-performing professionals, the goal is not simply to perform better in the moment, but to develop the psychological skills and systems necessary to sustain performance over time.

Dr. Janet brings more than 20 years of experience working across clinical psychology, professional sport, higher education, healthcare, military, and other high-performance environments. Her clientele includes athletes, coaches, trainers, and employees across the MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA, and Olympic environments.
She currently works with front office executives and employees at the Minnesota Twins, and is currently one of the team clinicians for the Minnesota Vikings. She previously worked within the University of Minnesota Athletics Department managing their athlete psychological testing services, including ADHD assessments.
Her work includes supporting athletes and high-performance personnel through mental health concerns, performance challenges, injury and rehabilitation, transitions, stress, and the unique psychological demands of high pressure sport environments.
Her experience within high-performance organizations provides a unique perspective on the relationship between individual psychology, leadership, organizational culture, and performance.
Janet Finlayson, Psy.D., is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in ADHD assessment and diagnosis. She is also an experienced therapist who aims to help athletes and non-athlete top performers enhance motivation, increase productivity, and manage a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, stress, depression, and motivation.
Janet has worked with athletes in college counseling, career counseling, and community mental health settings. She completed her doctoral training at the Clinic for Attention, Learning, and Memory (CALM) and Carleton College Student Health and Counseling Center. She currently manages Premier’s ADHD Testing Program, administering client assessments and providing diagnoses and recommendations around how to manage ADHD.
A varsity basketball and volleyball player in high school, Janet is a sports mom who enjoys boating, swimming, reading, and traveling.
