Janet comes to Premier with years of clinical counseling experience addressing a variety of client concerns. She is trained as a generalist and collaborates with clients to provide integrative, strength-based, supportive, client-centered interventions that improve overall health and wellness. She uses a “whole body” approach to managing stress and improving performance. In addition to her current work with individual and organizational clients, Janet provides Psychological Testing for the University of Minnesota Athletics Department, with a particular emphasis on ADHD testing.
Janet Finlayson, Psy.D., is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in ADHD assessment and diagnosis. She is also an experienced therapist who aims to help athletes and non-athlete top performers enhance motivation, increase productivity, and manage a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, stress, depression, and motivation.
Janet has worked with athletes in college counseling, career counseling, and community mental health settings. She completed her doctoral training at the Clinic for Attention, Learning, and Memory (CALM) and Carleton College Student Health and Counseling Center. She currently manages Premier’s ADHD Testing Program, administering client assessments and providing diagnoses and recommendations around how to manage ADHD.
A varsity basketball and volleyball player in high school, Janet is a sports mom who enjoys boating, swimming, reading, and traveling.
