Kaity Weimerskirch provides mental health counseling and performance coaching as a second-year practicum student at the University of St. Thomas in the Master’s in Counseling Psychology program. While working at Premier, she is being supervised by both Alexandra Wulbecker-Smith, MA, LPCC and Dr. Ben Merkling, Psy.D., LP, CMPC as she works towards her clinical hours for becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In addition to her practicum and being a full-time student, Kaity serves as an Associate Mental Skills Consultant at Premier Sport Psychology, where she leads workshops on topics like resilience, team culture, emotional regulation, focus, and motivation. Kaity also works as a Coach for the 18-1s at MN Select Volleyball Club. Kaity brings both professional training and personal experience as a former Division I volleyball player to her work, understanding firsthand the unique pressures athletes face.
Kaity is passionate about helping athletes strengthen both their mental health and mental performance so they can thrive in sport and in life. Kaity is especially interested in working with high school and collegiate athletes navigating challenges such as anxiety, life transitions, confidence, injury recovery, interpersonal conflicts, and overall well-being.
Kaity graduated with her BA in Psychology from Illinois State University in addition to earning her certificate in Human Resources. Kaity also competed for the Division 1 Redbirds volleyball team and was a three-year team captain who helped lead her team to three NCAA tournament appearances. She earned conference honors including MVC Libero of the Year and MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Beyond athletics, Kaity contributed to Redbirds for Change, a diversity, equity, and inclusion organization dedicated to advancing social justice advocacy within the athletic community.
Growing up, she was a multi-sport athlete and helped Champlin Park High School secure its first state volleyball title. Outside of work, Kaity enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, exploring local coffee shops and restaurants, and coaching the next generation of athletes.
