Accountant, Part-time (Hybrid)

Location: Minneapolis metro area in Minnesota
Type: Part-time; Hybrid (90% remote, 10% in-office)
Work Schedule: Hours can be flexible within Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: Range is open with max pay $30-$35/hour, depending on experience

Position Summary:
Premier Sport Psychology is looking for a part-time accountant who will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities such as accounts payable/accounts receivable. This individual will be a key resource for keeping accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization. The accountant will report directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform operational accounting for Premier Sport Psychology, Premier Performance Advising, and Premier Mindset
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
  • Collaborating closely with the Director of Operations and Human Resources
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Submit payroll each pay period
  • Maintain knowledge of best accounting practices and procedures
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Performs journal entries to reconcile financial accounts
  • Code invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and close the monthly books
  • Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks
  • Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and other financial accounts
  • Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are allocated to the appropriate accounts
  • Gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
  • File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
  • Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software
  • Manage the purchasing and invoicing system
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least three years of accounting or equivalent experience
  • Expert experience and knowledge of QuickBooks
  • CPA preferred
  • Action-oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
  • Strong knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles
  • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
  • Understanding of state and federal requirements and best practices of business administration
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software

Compensation/Benefits:
Compensation is open with a maximum pay of $30-$35/hour, depending on experience. Benefits include 10 days of paid time off.
