Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence for Premier Sport Psychology (PSP) and Premier Performance Advising (PPA). The ideal candidate will be able to implement an effective sales approach that expands our reach and strengthens client relationships. They will also be a strategic thinker with strong sales, relationship-building, and marketing expertise to identify new business opportunities, foster client relationships, and support the firm’s mission of enhancing performance of athletes, teams, athletic departments, and corporate organizations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Business Growth & Strategy:
- Lead the business development efforts of PSP and PPA
- Develop and executive a comprehensive business development plan aligned with Premier’s strategic goals
- Work closely with appropriate team members to develop service offerings and promotional campaigns
- Provide insights and feedback to improve service portfolio, delivery and client experience
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate relationships with prospective clients, maintaining ongoing communication and trust
- Build and nurture relationships in assigned sport and corporate spaces
- Prepare short and long-range strategic plans (in partnership with operations and executive management team), including implementation of such to identify and grow sales in assigned sport and corporate market segments
Sales & Revenue Generation:
- Responsible for researching and generating leads
- Shape and achieve sales goals to meet key performance indicators
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities within sport-related organizations and corporate sectors
- Prepare sales quotes and negotiate mutually beneficial business partnerships with new clientele
- Meet or exceed sales targets by securing new clients and retaining existing business
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and contracts tailored to client needs
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and client needs
- Analyze data to refine strategies and position the firm as a leader in the sport and performance psychology industry
- Gain in-depth knowledge of sport markets, corporate markets, Premier products/services, and competitive sport landscape
- Actively research and determine where specific PSP and PPA products/services fit and can be presented as a solution
Brand Promotion & Networking:
- Collaborate with providers and content development team to refine and develop new marketing and sales products
- Represent the firm and/or organize Premier speaking engagements at industry conferences, networking events, etc.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, including digital and print materials
- Design and implement content expertise and lead generation activities, including but not limited to seminars, meetings, round tables, webinars, podcasts and other activities
Perform other duties as assigned, understanding that unconventional hours and travel will be required.
Required qualifications, knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or sales, or equivalent related experience
- Proven experience prospecting and qualifying leads into new clients
- Proven history of achieving sales goals and exceeding quotas
- Customer contract negotiations
- Strong self-initiative with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload

- Flexibility to work non-standard hours and adjust responsibilities as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills & abilities:
- 2+ years business development experience in a service-based industry
- Experience buying or selling consulting services in business or sport settings
- Understanding of leadership consulting value propositions and professional services sales methodologies
- Existing professional network of key decision-makers in collegiate athletics, corporate organizations, and/or adjacent market experience or knowledge
- Working understanding of university and/or professional sport market segments and industry
