Position Summary:
The Assistant Clinical Services Director will be a principal-level sport psychologist / athletic counselor will be primarily responsible for sharing the management of Premier’s licensed providers on the team with the Vice President of Clinical Services, while also providing mental health and mental performance services to individuals of all ages in the private practice setting and sport-related settings. This role involves the opportunity to lead and manage university programming and/or sport organization contracts while supervising and managing internal team members. This position is designed for an individual who is interested in collaborating as a member of an action-oriented, passionate, and innovative sport psychology team. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of effectively leading and motivating teams to achieve departmental goals and objectives, is an agile learner, provides high-quality work, adaptable, and collaborative. This individual will report directly to the Vice President of Clinical Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise, manage, and mentor providers
  • Oversee performance management of assigned supervisees
  • Provide mental health and mental performance services to clients
  • Collaborate closely with additional sport psychologists and mental performance consultants on staff
  • Develop, provide, and deliver mental health and/or mental performance programming services for coaches, players, and staff (i.e., individual client care, case management, group workshops, presentations)
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with referral sources
  • Maintain license(s) and/or certifications with education/specialties to provide tools, models, and training for performance optimization (i.e., mindfulness, focus, confidence, imagery, emotional regulation, managing pressure, etc.)
  • Lead the development and implementation of sport psychology programs aimed at enhancing sport and performance psychology
  • Serve as a client lead and/or account manager of client contracts as needed (i.e., pro sport/Olympic/college contract)
  • Serve as a member of the internal operations committee
  • Work closely with coaches, trainers, and medical staff to integrate psychological strategies into training and competition
  • Develop and deliver educational sessions for athletes, coaches, and staff on various aspects of sport psychology
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of client services and programs
  • Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in sport psychology and apply evidence-based practices
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records of all consultations and interventions
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Unconventional hours will be required


Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields
  • Clinical licensure and/or certification (LP, LPC, LPCC, LMHC, LCSW, LCPC, LMFT)
  • 4+ years as a licensed professional
  • 3+ years performance psychology experience in applied sport psychology, preferably at the elite or professional level
  • 3+ years leading professional, collegiate, or Olympic sport and performance psychology programming
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team or supervising staff in a professional setting
  • Clinical supervision experience
  • Experience providing sport psychology and/or mental performance consulting services to athletes, coaches, and/or teams
  • Experience providing services to multicultural populations
  • Strong generalist with knowledge and experience in providing individual mental performance consulting and case management services
  • CMPC preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to complex situations
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in the field
